Ball Screw Driven Tables

High-precision positioning tables driven by ball screws

Positioning mechanisms for accurate and repeatable machine motion

IKO designs and manufactures a wide range of positioning tables driven by ball screws that act as reliable positioning mechanisms in a variety of applications, from semiconductor manufacturing equipment to high-precision machinery.

Precision Positioning Tables (TU)

Our TU precision positioning tables are slim and compact positioning mechanisms that feature a U-shaped track rail and slide table. The table resides within the track rail as part of a complete linear motion rolling guide assembly designed with two rows of large-diameter steel balls in four-point contact with raceways.

  • This specialized design enables both high accuracy and high rigidity, even under fluctuating and complex loads.
  • Six sizes are available with track rail widths from 25 to 130 millimeters.
  • Optional bellows to prevent dust ingression and black chrome surface treatments to prevent corrosion are available.
  • Table length, ball screw type, motor and sensors may be customized to meet the needs of specific applications.

Precision Positioning Tables (TE)

Our TE precision positioning tables are lightweight and compact positioning mechanisms that feature high-strength aluminum alloys and a slide table that moves within a U-shaped track rail.

  • Table mass is 40% less than the standard TU series.
  • Precision ball screws ensure reliable and precise positioning.
  • Built-in C-Lube lubrication components for long life and maintenance-free operation up to five years or 20,000 kilometers and beyond.
  • Ball screw leads, motors and sensors may be customized to meet the needs of individual applications.
  • Many sizes and styles are offered, including models with low sectional heights and tables with or without flanges.

Long Stroke Precision Positioning Tables (TSL)

Our long stroke precision positioning tables are lightweight, long-stroke positioning mechanisms that feature two rows of highly rigid linear ways together with a slide table and bed made of high-strength aluminum alloys and precision ball screws.

  • Parallel design of the linear ways ensures high stability, accuracy and load capacity.
  • Multiple table sizes and stroke lengths are available with table widths from 90 to 220 millimeters.
  • Specialized XY brackets are available for 2-axis applications.
  • Built-in C-Lube lubrication components for long life and maintenance-free operation up to five years or 20,000 kilometers and beyond.
  • Aluminum alloy bed structure can be customized to achieve more than 2000 millimeters stroke length upon request.

High Rigidity Precision Positioning Tables (TSLH)

Our high rigidity precision positioning tables are extremely accurate and reliable positioning mechanisms that feature slide tables and beds made of cast iron for high rigidity and superior vibration damping. The parallel design of two sets of linear ways ensures high stability and accuracy as well as high load capacity.

  • Four sizes are available with table widths from 120 to 420 millimeters.
  • Built-in C-Lube lubrication components for long life and maintenance-free operation up to five years or 20,000 kilometers and beyond.
  • Two-axis tables are possible by combining two LH units.
  • Optional bellows to prevent dust ingression and black chrome surface treatments to prevent corrosion are available.

Super Precision Positioning Tables (TX)

Our super precision positioning tables offer ultra-precise running accuracy and high load capacity by incorporating IKO’s Super X linear roller way on a rigid cast iron bed. An advanced closed-loop control system that incorporates a linear encoder with a resolution of 0.016µm guarantees superior positioning accuracy.

  • Four sizes are available with table widths from 120 to 420 millimeters.
  • Built-in C-Lube lubrication components for long life and maintenance-free operation up to five years or 20,000 kilometers and beyond.
  • Optional low dust-generating grease is available for use in clean room applications.

Cleanroom Precision Positioning Tables (TC)

Our cleanroom precision positioning tables are designed for ISO Class 3 (U.S. Fed. Std. 209E Class 1) applications such as semiconductor and liquid crystal display manufacturing. Stainless steel sheets and side covers prevent dust generated inside the table from escaping into the clean room environment.

  • Tables are lightweight, compact and feature minimal cross sectional height as low as 50 millimeters.
  • Major components are made of high strength, corrosion-resistant aluminium alloys, stainless steel and precision ball screws.
  • Bed widths range from 50 to 86 millimeters.
  • Built-in C-Lube lubrication components for long life and maintenance-free operation up to five years or 20,000 kilometers and beyond.

Compact Precision Positioning Tables (TS/CT)

Our compact precision positioning tables feature low sectional height, high reliability and high accuracy, incorporating an IKO crossed roller way as the rolling guide mechanism. A highly rigid, vibration damping slide table and bed made of cast iron are combined with a precision ball screw drive mechanism.

  • Both single axis (TS) and two-axis (CT) models are available for high accuracy positioning applications such as precision measuring instruments and assembly systems.
  • Table widths range from 55 to 260 millimeters in single-axis tables and 55 to 350 millimeters in two-axis tables.
  • Optional anti-creep crossed roller ways are well-suited for vertical axis use and high acceleration and deceleration.

Micro Precision Positioning Tables (TM)

Our micro precision positioning tables are ultra-compact mechanisms comprised of an IKO micro linear way L with a track width of just 2 mm and a 2 mm diameter precision ground ball screw.

  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel is used for all major components.
  • Overall dimensions are 20 millimeters high by 17 millimeters wide.
  • Maximum table speed is 150 millimeters per second when specified with a high-lead ball screw and high-torque servomotor.
  • Slide tables are available in both standard and long versions with steppers or AC servomotors.
  • Optional sensors are available if required.
