UPDATE  3/15/2011

Nippon Thompson Company, LTD (IKO) is grateful to report that employees remain safe and none of its Japanese facilities have been damaged or directly impacted by the March 11th natural disaster.

The massive earthquake and tsunami struck the coast of Japan, approximately 170 miles Northeast of Tokyo.  As Nippon Thompson’s primary facilities are located approximately 170 miles Southwest of Tokyo, operations at production facilities should continue to operate as usual.  Most goods exported by boat should encounter minimal delay if any since they depart from the Port of Nagoya (approximately 160 miles Southwest of Tokyo).  As for air shipments, there might be some delays due to cancellation of flights and power outages at Narita (Tokyo) airport. Also, raw material supply to our plants is also OK at this time.

However, with many developments still unfolding, it may be hard to accurately predict the future situations regarding the above issues.  Should new information come to our attention, IKO will update such matters if and when they arise.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with those affected by this terrible event.

Sincerely,

IKO International, Inc.
